    How can NCERT book for class 2 English be useful?

    English is an important subject. In class 2, students learn basic things in English. CBSE has prescribed an NCERT book for class 2 English that includes simple stories. Students of class 2 can study from the NCERT book for class 2 English and score high marks in the exams. NCERT books are written in very simple language for class 2 English so that students can understand the stories and take interest in learning English. The activities given in the Class 2 English book can help to enhance the listening and speaking skills of students. In this article, we will discuss the syllabus given in the NCERT book for class 2 English and how students can learn new concepts from these chapters.

    Overview of class 2 NCERT book for English

    The NCERT book for class 2 English has fifteen chapters in total. In class 2 English book, students will learn about alliteration, rhyming, consonant clusters, and many other new concepts. The chapters are based on different themes such as peace, gender, and environment. 

    Action Song

    It is the first chapter in the class 2 English NCERT book. It is a beautiful poem given in the book through which students of class 2 will clap and sing together. Students can have a lot of fun while reading the poem. 

    Our Day

    It is the second chapter given in the Class 2 English NCERT book. It is a small descriptive essay that gives information about the earth and the sun. Students will learn how a day ends and begins. It describes the activities of the entire day. At the end of the chapter, simple exercises are given to enhance the understanding of the students. 

    My Family

    It is the third chapter of class 2 English NCERT boo. It is a short story about a boy named Mohit and his family. In this story, the boy describes his family members. Students will enjoy reading this short story and they can make the connection with their families. Students will have to answer short questions at the end of the chapter.

    What’s Going On?

    In this chapter, students will study different images. In the chapter, two images are given in which people are doing different activities. Students have to look at the images carefully to answer the questions given at the end of the chapter. 

    Mohan, the Potter

    It is the fifth chapter in NCERT class 2 English books. This is a story about a boy named Mohan who is a potter. In the story, Mohan makes different pottery items such as cups, pots, etc. He also has a bullock cart and he takes his products on the bullock cart to sell in the market. It is also an interesting story in which students will have to answer the questions given at the end of the chapter.

    Rain summer

    This is a beautiful poem in class 2 English NCERT book. The poem is composed by H.W. Longfellow. The poem describes the rain that pours during the summers. It describes the beautiful scene that occurs when rain falls in the summers. 

    My Village

    This is the seventh chapter in the Class 2 English NCERT book. In this story, the narrator’s name is Jagmal and he lives in a village. He describes the beauty of his village. He describes everything around his village. Students will read the whole essay and will answer questions based on the description of the chapter at the end.

    The Work People do

    It is the eighth chapter in the class 2 English NCERT book. In this chapter, students will learn about different professions. They will learn about the work done by farmers, doctors, drivers, tailors, carpenters, etc. This will help students to identify people by their professions. Students have to answer different types of questions based on this chapter. 

    Work

    This chapter is similar to the eighth chapter. In this chapter as well students will learn about different professions. They will solve different exercises that will help students a better understanding of the chapter. 

    Our National Symbols

    It is the tenth chapter in the class 2 English NCERT book. In this chapter, students will learn about the different national symbols of our country. In this chapter, the description of four main symbols that are National Flag, National Emblem, National Bird, and National Animals are given. It is an informative chapter for the students of class 2. 

    The Festivals of India

    This is also an important chapter as it will help students to learn about the different festivals of India. In India, different festivals are celebrated in different parts of the country. Students will learn how will decorate their houses during Diwali and other festivals. 

    The Monkey and the Elephant

    It is an interesting short story given in class 2 English NCERT book. The story is about an elephant and a group of monkeys. Students will enjoy reading the story. Monkeys feared the elephant but soon they jumped on the monkey’s back and had a ride. 

    Going to the Fair

    It is also an interesting chapter for the students of class 2. In this chapter, students will study the description of a fair. The scene of the fair is described beautifully. Students will learn the things that are available at the fair. 

    Colours

    This is the fourteenth chapter of class 2 English NCERT boo. The chapter describes the different colors that are seen in the surroundings. It is a short poem and describes the different colors in the form of different objects found in nature. 

    Sikkim

    It is the last chapter of the class 2 NCERT book in English. In this chapter, students will study Sikkim. They will learn everything about Sikkim. Students will also answer questions based on the information given in the chapter to make sure that they have learned everything. 

    Thus, students of class 2 can read all chapters given in the NCERT book to understand different concepts. They will learn to solve different exercises given at the end of each chapter to further understand the concepts of English.
